My daughter had her dance recital tonight. They always end the recital by turning down all the lights while the dancers wave glow sticks in the air. I managed to take a 3.2 second hand held exposure of it and got an unexpected treat. A few people threw their glow sticks into the audience during the shot which left these cool mono color rainbows behind. Not sure if this is stretching the concept of "Unexpected" or not.
Enjoy.

Hand held for 3.2 seconds. You have done well! Hardly any blurr in the stationary objects. It's a cool effect.
Amy, isn't it sad that society has taken us to the level where we cannot photograph our own kids while in the company of others. And the organisers hide behind the very thinly veiled "copyright" law.
When it is no longer legal to take photographs anywhere, then that will be the start of world anarchy and I reckon I'll be in the lead charge!

It's rediculous to hold people hostage to such events. I take issue with other people sticking their hands in my wallet and helping themselves.
I would take a very rigid stance and tell these people that if I cannot take any pictures of my kid, then they themselves must do due diligence and remove my child from any imaging they have on file. I, as the parent, should have all control of my childs images and would take a letigious stance on any unauthorized images.
The stance should be a lot friendlier from these people...,photo-disc should be made available to any family member.
Additionally, why do you have to force parents to buy tickets? I believe little incentive is required when little suzie or johnny are going to perform.
Boy, some people can suck the air out of the room and the fun out of these events.
- Cut me off a pc of that!

And to put a MINIMUM quantity on the number of tickets you have to buy? That's extortion! There must be some sort of law against profiteering of this sort, surely?
Nothing more than pure greed. A letter to the editor of the city's newspaper might ruffle a few feathers...
