Unexpected Loss of Load

Saw this guy holding up traffic one day. Not sure exactly how he managed to "loose his load" but I bet it was unexpected!

Do you know if it is grain or sand that is spilling out. It looks like a grain hopper to me and the dumping mechanism has let go. Puts a new angle on leaving a bread crumb trail...!

I'm not sure George. I guess I always assumed it was sand but it could very well be grain.
