Hello - figured I should introduce myself and say hello. Been enjoying the site for a few days now after returning to look at it after a long absence. Guess I would be considered part of the Brea club. Been with BCI for close to 10 years - though I have yet to make it to a meeting. Hope I can arrange that soon however. Been interested in photography for at least 10 years now. Started learning by taking photos at the El Toro Marine Base air shows each year with my fathers Pentax SLR. Took a few B&W photography classes in college and kept an interest in it among other hobbies. Mostly it was a supporting hobby for model railroading and aviation interest. Railroading took over my life about 8 years ago and has really been a great thing for me as it has brought me in contact with many great people and great friends. Also it get's me out exploring and seeing things that I would probably never pay attention to otherwise. I like architecture and macro photography as well so I can pretty much find something of interest to photograph in any situation.
Other than photography, I have an interest in website building. I am a newly wed at just over 4 months and a proud father of a wonderful 5 year old girl (who has taken to photography already much to my enjoyment). Also I am pretty new to the DSLR world of photography having just recently purchased my first Nikon D60. Previously I shot on a Fuji S5100 prosumer digital and had the privilege of using a freinds Nikon D1X for a few months. That probably helped to lead me towards Nikon over Canon more than anything though most of my friend's shoot on Canon - I like being the odd one.
Here are three images that were taken using my Fuji S5100. Two from the Santa Ana Transit Center in Santa Ana, CA. One was handheld and the other using a small tri-pod. The Boxcars in Anaheim image was taken in Anaheim, CA near the 5 Freeway and Katella Ave on a somewhat misty evening.
Thanks for putting the site together. Hope to make it to the next Brea meeting.
Regards and Best Wishes
Chris
