The name of rays' Blu Disco "is quite unusual, this name is derived from the Blu violet laser it uses to read and write this type of disc. More data can be stored on a Blu Ray disc in a DVD. This is because the shorter wavelength laser for Blu-violet, which is 405 nanometers. Almost 25 gigabytes (GB) can be stored in a single layer BD. This is more than 5 times the capacity of a DVD disc that can store almost 4.5 GB only. In a double-layer BD can store up to 50GB of data.
BD optical disc format was jointly developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA). BDA is a group of leading consumer electronics global personal computer makers and the media. These include Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson. Blu-ray is backed by 180 of the world's leading technology companies. These companies are the biggest names in consumer electronics personal computers, recording media, video game and music companies.
The BD format has broad support from the major studios. In fact, most major movie studios have released movies on Blu-ray. This is Disney, Fox, Warner, Paramount, Sony, Lionsgate and MGM. Six studies are releasing their movies exclusively on Blu-ray, but are Disney, Fox, Sony, Warner, Lionsgate and MGM.
Several companies are offering electronic products can read and write CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray. Companies like Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Pioneer, Sharp and LG are coming up with Players with BD / DVD / CD compatible optical head. BD players are becoming popular because the simple reason that it is quality. BD on players who can also play DVDs, it seems even better than before. So Blu Ray DVD players are the latest fad word in the entertainment scene, which produces clear picture with vivid colors and sharp sound.
Because of the quality that is offering, BD players are in high demand. Day by day the demand of this next generation technology is increasing. This makes their cost of production to fall. Of Sony's taking advantage of this fact and is reducing the price of their BD players. Several companies are ahead in the manufacture of the next generation BD players. The electronics company Toshiba sells its high-definition (HD) DVD player in the much lower price than the Sony BD players. Now, Sony is trying to get ahead in the market which has reduced the price 50 pounds in your BD player.
Sony Blu-ray with the support of companies like Samsung, Dell and Apple, while NEC, Sanyo and other supporting HD DVD from Toshiba. We can say that the format war is on. Both HDD and Blu-ray features are almost identical systems, both in stores large amounts of data, both to produce high quality image and audio, and both use a blue laser to read information. Only one difference, that is the price. So the price of Sony's cutting step may be an additional advantage of Sony BD players.
