Biography
I live in Brisbane, Australia, in the state of Queensland. I was a Field Service Engineer with Beckman Coulter and joined the company in January 2005 and left in June 2007 to pursue other opportunities.I have a love for the outdoors and an interest in all things maritime, being an ex-navy man.
I enjoy my photography when I can and prefer to photograph the natural world. I never seem to like my photos of people, no matter how hard I try!
My cameras include a 5MP Kodak Digital Science 7590 and a Pentax ME Super 35mm Film with assorted lenses. One day, I'd like to own a Mamiya or Hasselblad Digital large format camera.
In the end I was growing old waiting for the K10D to hit the streets so I bought a Canon EOS 400D with the 18-55mm and 75-300mm kit lenses. I have added the EF-S 17-85mm IS USM lens to replace the 18-55mm kit lens. My shopping list still has a few things on it and I will cross them off as the budget permits.
My new equipment list is thus:
Canon EOS 400D
Canon BG-E3 Battery Grip
Canon EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 II
Canon EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 III
Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM
Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro USM
Tamron 2x Teleconverter (What! Not a Canon?)
Canon 580EX Speedlite
Canon Off Camera Flash Adaptor
Canon Cable remote
Velbon Sherpa 600R Tripod
Manfrotto 676B / 484RC2 Monopodand then...
and then...
and then...I try to capture what I see and rarely use computer programmes to artificially enhance my images. However, now with the new kit some post processing is mandatory to convert the RAW to JPG.
