You may remember that the Miami photo club went to Morikami Gardens 2 weeks ago...this is a group photo from that outing taken by Alonso Martinez. This is the last photo that we have from the club with Colin Aldersley in it.

This hawk was on the roof of my car at work yesterday afternoon...just thought I would share this with everyone. My coworker was leaving work and called me to tell me that there was a large bird on the roof of my car. Funny, out of all the cars in the parking lot, it chose mine! I shot this with a point and shoot and the photo is cropped...oh and I should mention that it left me a nice big poop all down the back side of my car! As our on-site nurse Leigh said to me today...you don't get something for nothing! So true!
I took Kaley to the Ramble at Fairchild Tropical Gardens today. Aside from selling plants, there were many other vendors selling their goods. I thought that this one might be good for this challenge. These things cost around $200!
Today Colin, Bruce, Alonso, Alonso's wife and daughter and myself...visited the Morikami Gardens in Delray Beach. We had super weather, a nice breeze and beautiful scenery. We enjoyed a nice lunch together after our photo shoot at the Japanese restaurant on site. What a great day!
Please enjoy a slideshow of this gallery on my website, but take some time to view each photo and get a little history of the garden. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! It's been a while...sorry for that. Just been very busy here at work and exhausted on the weekends.
I just returned from central Vermont and it was BEAUTIFUL! I went with my best friend and we spent 4 days covering as much territory as we could. We stayed at a Bed and Breakfast in Morrisville. We truly got the full Fall experience. Here's a link to my website. If you choose to view each photo individually, you will get a little extra bonus...the history and story behind the photos! I tried to give as much historic info for pictures that I could. I hope that you enjoy the tour! Amy

Hi all...hope it's ok, but I pulled 2 of my faves from my 2007 archives when I took the night photography course. Work is so stressful for me these days that weekends are for sleeping, not photography.
First photo was shot at the Bayside Marketplace in Downtown Miami. The Colony, of course, is a South Beach icon.
Kaley and I had an awesome time at the Nick Hotel celebrating her 7th birthday! Yes, it was just us girls…as Steve was sick and couldn’t go with us to Orlando. After all of the negative things I’ve heard about the hotel and read online, I was a little worried about the trip. The Nick Hotel rocks and I would go back in a minute! From the moment we arrived until the morning we left, I don’t have one negative thing to say about our stay. I think you can tell from the pictures that we had a great time.
There are so many great moments…from the Character Breakfast on her birthday, the pools and slides, the shows, the room…all excellent! We even spent ½ day at Downtown Disney and met Kaley’s Aunt Crissy and Uncle Ryan and her Uncle Mark, Aunt Jane and almost 1 year old cousin Olivia. We ate dinner at the Rainforest Café to celebrate both of the girl’s birthdays.
The last morning we enjoyed about an hour in the pool before checking out.
I shot all of the photos with a new Canon point and shoot...yes, I said Canon. It took pretty great pictures (I shot only in Manual) and it took some terrific movies. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! My family and I had a wonderful vacation in Sanibel last week. We had absolutely gorgeous weather on the west coast of Florida, while Miami was all soggy and wet! We couldn’t have timed it any better. It was so nice to get away, relax and enjoy some beach time. Kaley and her dad found many sand dollars and starfish and we even had dolphins swim by us as we played in the ocean. We had fun finding seashells too!
This coming week we are taking Kaley up to Orlando to celebrate her 7th birthday at the Nickelodeon Hotel.
Enjoy the photos. Amy

Pat and I (alone) went back this morning for the Sunday race. The wind was coming out of the south this time and many of the balloons chose to leave and fly out of another field. It was kind of cool. Several balloons stayed and launched from where we were at, while the others flew in from overhead.
Both days I shot with my new Nikon 28-70mm, f/2.8 lens, as I wanted to walk around with a light load. I’m pretty happy with the results! Enjoy! Amy
