Artist's Statement
I have been taking photos since I was 14. In the past I liked better to take scenery and architectural subjets but now I enjoy taking photos of people and places reflecting the local culture.
I have thousands of digital images, slides and film. The day I get retired I will be busy the rest of my life orgamizing all these images.
Camera: I have used different cameras because I am always selling my old equipment and buying the latest. From now on I will add this information to the story. The photos on the Varanasi story were taken with a Canon 20D. I just sold this camera and bought a Canon 400D (in USA Rebel XTi). I bought this in China last month and beleive me or not, it is a real Canon made in Japan. This model is "less professional" than the 20D, hoever one of the reasons I bought it is because of the automatic cleaning system. I was tired to cleanup dust spots with Photoshop. The camera is light and works great. I only bought the body because I have two good Canon lenses and the standard lense sold with the 400D is crappy. I hope next year Canon will come up with a full frame model like the 5D but with the automatic cleaning system.
