These were all taken with my P&S through the car window while we were driving to and from Tampa this weekend. Not really great pictures, but worth sharing anyway. I took all but the lightning shot, which my husband captured. We encountered the worst weather we've ever driven in or been this close to. We saw the most intense lightning, we drove through blinding rains and even had hail!  One time we had simultaneous lightning and thunder, which we felt inside the car! It was crazy, but we made it back safe and sound.

"Close Call" was taken today on the way home and the rest were taken on Friday afternoon.

Every day I have the opportunity to shoot the clouds (better than shooting a moon!).  The views with the trees and or building are in Hollywood.  The others with the exception of "Palm Beach Parking Lot" were taken from I-95 at around 5 pm.  My boyfriend was getting annoyed with me every time I opened the window to get a shot. While speeding down the freeway - the noise, wind and hot air poured in as I snapped away!!King Kong or Kermit? That's what they said on the radio.  These were taken at 4:45, just before it actually hit us. Now it’s 5:30, the rain has stopped and there’s a fringe of clear blue sky in the distance. This one moved through too fast to leave us much water.

I don't have a lot to choose from but I managed to trawl up some attempts at the storms. Right now, storms aren't exactly a happening thing around these parts these days for a couple of reasons, 1 - it's winter and our winters are traditionally dry. Our normal storm season is in the summer (December through to February). 2 - We're in one hell of a drought right now a good storm would be most welcome!

The pearling luggers are berthed in Darwin, in the top most part of Australia in the Northern Territory. Tropical storms are a daily occurence and this one was building.

I did have to dig into the archives for this challenge...,our rainy season is from Jan-Apr and this year it's been dry.
